Veteran director SA Chandrasekar: 'Touring Talkies' is my last film

Kollywood veteran director and superstar Ilayathalapathy Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar has announced that his forthcoming flick "Touring Talkies" will be his last film as a director.

In recent interview he said " When Vijay wanted to become a hero, I approached many directors and even offered to produce the film but one came forward to direct him and hence, I directed Vijay's initial films. There was a time, When I used to sleep at platform but today my son is a big hero, got a good daughter-in-law and grand children. Now I've decided to quit directing films".

He has directed over 66 movies in Tamil. Some of his hits include "Vetri", "Naan Sigappu Manithan", and "Mutham". He also directed some Telugu movies such as "Chattaniki Kallu Levu" with Chiranjeevi. Most of his movies are with Vijayakanth. He has appeared in supporting roles in some movies like "Naan Sivappu Manithan". Director S. Shankar, one of the notable directors of India, has worked with him as assistant.
Chandrasekar added that he will continue to produce more films with talented newcomers. Touring Talkies is slated to release on January 30.
