
Chellathurai, who had played comedy and character roles in more than 350 flicks, passed away in Chennai on Saturday (February 7) following health ailments. He was 74.
He had acted alongside Vadivelu and other leading comedians. He was part of many legendary flicks, including "Thooral Ninnu Pochu" and "Sankarlal". He was said to be suffering from kidney trouble and high blood pressure.
"He was admitted to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital some days ago. He breathed his last yesterday. His last rites were performed at Vadapalani last evening. He is survived by two sons and two daughters," sources said.
