Kollywood actress Vindhya, who made her debut with a Tamil musical romance film "Sangamam" in 1999, has been hospitalized in KM Specialty Hospital in Chennai.

She is reported to have been affected by acute pancreatitis; she returned from Varanasi recently, has been unwell since last week. Her condition deteriorated yesterday, and she lost consciousness.

The actress had acted in films like "Azhagu Nilayam" and "Ayutham Seivom" and had also campaigned for the "AIADMK" during the state assembly elections a few years back.

Her publicist confirmed that the actress is coping well and will be discharged in three days. She has been undergoing treatment in the hospital for the past five days.
