Samanatha Ruth Prabhu Clocks 12 Years In Film Industry

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is the second actress ever to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu in the same year, for her performances in the films Neethaane En Ponvasantham  and Eega, clocks 12 years in film industry and expresses her gratitude with a heartfelt post. 
 
Sharing a beautiful picture of herself on social media, Samantha wrote, “I woke up this morning to realize that I’ve completed 12 years in the Film Industry. It’s been 12 years of memories that revolve around Lights, Camera, action and incomparable moments. I am filled with gratitude for having had this blessed journey and the best, most loyal fans in the world! Here’s hoping my love story with Cinema never ends and abounds from strength to strength” 
 
While pursuing her degree, Samantha did modelling gigs, which led to leading role in Gautham Vasudev Menon's critically acclaimed Telugu romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave, which fetched her the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress and a Nandi Award, and rest is history. 
 
With 50 odd films under her credit, Samantha recently made her digital debut as baddie with The Family Man, also starring Manoj Bajpayee. 
 
Next, she will be seen in Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Shaakuntalam, and Yashoda.
 
Shaakuntalam is written and directed by Gunasekhar it is based on a popular play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film features Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles.
