The maker of Petta unveils a stunning new poster from the film, featuring Rajinikanth and Simran in a whole new avatars.

The official handle of Sun Pictures dropped the new poster on the digital platform, which quickly went viral. On the poster, Rajinikanth and a gorgeous looking Simran, carrying a flower pot.They captioned it, “#PettaPongalParaak @rajinikanth @karthiksubbaraj @SimranbaggaOffc @anirudhofficial @VijaySethuOffl @Nawazuddin_S @SasikumarDir @trishtrashers”  

Petta is an upcoming action film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran. The film stars Rajinikanth with an ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, M. Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, J. Mahendran and Guru Somasundaram.

Petta, the film is said to be a gangster action drama on the lines of Rajinikanth’s '90s blockbuster Baashha but it will have trademark Karthik Subbaraj elements. In Tamil, Petta indicates the locality of gangsters so the title itself excited fans who are longing to see Rajinikanth in a mass avatar again.

The latest is that the makers have confirmed that the film which has music by Anirudh Ravichander will hit the screens for Pongal in January 2019.

Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the prime antagonist in the film. Being made on a massive scale, the project is funded by Sun Pictures.
