To act in Maniratnam's movies is every actor's dream, But actress Pooja Hegde rejects filmmaker Mani Ratnam' Offer.

Mani Ratnam might have never thought casting of his film could be so tough. Post 'Kadali' release, The bad phase of this most promising filmmaker has begun and he has no other option but to go through it.

After dropping the plans to make a multi-starrer in the combination of Mahesh Babu-Nagarjuna and a solo hero flick with Ram Charan, Mani Ratnam decided to make a youthful love story. He roped Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan as a main lead long back but couldn't zero in on the female lead yet. Initially, Nithya Menon was considered but she was dropped for some reason.

According to media reports, Recently Mani Ratnam approached Pooja Hegde of Varun Tej's 'Mukundha' fame and faced a rejection. It is learnt that the lanky lass turned down the offer citing date issues as she will be shooting for Hrithik Roshan's historical flick 'Mohenja Daro' under the direction of Ashutosh Gowarkar of 'Lagaan' and 'Jodha Akhbar' from October this year.
