Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam's next film, which was supposed to kick-start yesterday, has been postponed for a week and will go on the floors from October 6th.

Touted to be a breezy romantic tale, this yet - untitled project features Dulquer Salmaan of Vaayai Moodi Pesavum fame in the lead role. The movie will have cinematography by PC Sreeram, who is teaming up with Mani Ratnam after the magical 'Alaipayuthey', a trendsetting romance film.

Sreeram has tweeted “Last day of shoot for Shamitabh tonight, will be starting Mani film from October 6th.”

AR Rahman, Ratnam's trusted protégé, will compose music for the film. Mani Ratnam himself producing the film on his Madras Talkies banner. Filmmaker is keen on roping in a new face for heroine role and the search is still on.
