Karthi, who made a magnificent debut in Tamil with Paruthiveeran has a very strong fan base in Tollywood. Almost all his Tamil movies are dubbed in Telugu and released there (Andhra), and they have gotten quite a good response also.

Now, the buzz is that the Paiyya star is all set to make his debut in T-town with a direct Telugu movie. The bigger news is that the project would be a multi-starrer with Nagarjuna playing another lead role.

A little birdie states that Karthik is apparently replacing Jr. NTR, who was originally supposed to be a part of this project, but dropped out for unknown reasons. The news is that ace director Vamsi Paidipally is to direct this multi-starrer. No official confirmation has been given as yet, but the speculations are rife.

Karthi's upcoming film is director Ranjith's Madras, opposite Catherine Tresa, releasing on 26 September.
