Director Vetrimaaran’s film Poriyaalan is all set for release this week, where Harish Kalyan plays the role of a civil engineer. The story realistically deals with the problems faced by a civil engineer. In his last movie 'Vellai Illa Patthari' Dhanush also played a civil engineer, which was a box-office hit.
 
Harish says “The film has no imaginary elements in it. It has portrayed reality in a beautiful way. The characters in this film, including me, are very simple and the incidents reflect real life. It has a very good love story and friendship in it,”
 
Vetrimaaran is presenting the film as he was very impressed after seeing it. In fact, earlier, he took time out to visit the sets of Poriyaalan and gave a few suggestions to the director, Thanukumar.

Ask him whether it is similar to VIP and he says, “It is not at all similar to VIP. Poriyaalan is about the problems the lead actor faces in his job and how he manages his love life too in a realistic way. Here, the actor is a civil engineer right from the first scene.”

The film features Harish Kalyan and Anandhi in the leading roles. The Distribution rights of the film is been bagged by Vendhar Movies. Film's release is planned on the 5th of september 2014.
