
The former cabinet minister Shashi Tharoor is all set to make his acting debut. He will play the lead role in National award winner director Rajeevnath's next directorial venture, which is an adaption of the acclaimed short story Pothichoru, written by Karoor Neelakanta Pillai.
According to media source, South superstar Mohanlal was earlier considered for the role; but later got replaced with Shashi Tharoor. The movie, which is reportedly titled as Onnam Sir, is produced by a famous French production company. The project will go on floors soon.
The politician, who is also an MP from Trivandrum, has always expressed his deep interest in cinema and art forms. Shashi Tharoor was earlier rumoured to be making his acting debut; but the handsome politician slammed the reports by stating that he is too busy with his political career.
