Dhanush latest outing “Maari” might be getting mixed reviews, but the film has managed to soar high at the box office. Biggest box-office opening collection so far for the actor! A whopping 25 crores.

Balaji Mohan directorial Maari, starring Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal survived the Baahubali storm and pulled off a decent action commercial success.

The film hit 294 screens in Chennai on the release day, the weekend collections of Maari reached Rs 25 crore, as reported, which is the first ever for Dhanush.

Dhanush has played a local don in Maari, and for the first time the actor is seen opposite Kajal Aggarwal.

Anirudh Ravichandran composed the songs and the background score for the film, which has hit numbers like Don'u Don'u.

The film was produced by Radhika Sarathkumar and co-produced by Dhanush himself.
