“No scope to make Natsamrat sequel” – Mahesh Manjrekar

Director Mahesh Manjreker’s ‘Natsamrat’, which records the biggest opening for a Marathi film, said there is no scope to make another installment of the film, “Natsamrat can’t be made in sequel. Natsamrat is one single story which has ended with the film. It’s a tragedy of an actor, sequel can’t be made.” He expressed.
Nana Patekar starrer ‘Natsamrat’ is a delight for any movie lover of any language, culture or nationality. Manjrekar who is credited with directing the critically acclaimed Hindi films like Vaastav: The Reality, Astitva and Viruddh stated that ‘Natsamrat’ has shown that cinema has no language boundary. 
“Success of Natsamrat is phenomenal. The kind of response we received we didn’t expect. Audience not only loved the film, they called us from remote places and spoke to us. The film got standing ovation on each show. And the most positive thing not only Marathi people watched the movie; Natsamrat went beyond the language and culture. I always say cinema should have no language and Natsamrat proved this.” 
Natsamrat, which means 'King of theater', stars Nana Patekar in the lead part and is the screen presentation of the prominent Marathi writer Kusummagraj's well-known play by the same title. 
Mahesh Manjrekar, the director has also acclaimed as an actor for his performance in the 2002 film Kaante, and later played negative roles in the Telugu film Okkadunnadu and as the gangster Javed in the film Slumdog Millionaire and many other films. The director was recently seen portraying Shahuji Raje Bhonsle in Deepika-Ranveer starrer Bajirao Mastani.
