The 50th edition of IFFI this year is surely one of the most awaited and with some prestigious and renowned international filmmakers being part of the festival, this year is definitely going to be better and bigger.
French filmmaker Mr. Robin Campillo, who was also a member of Cannes International Jury 2019, renowned Chinese filmmaker Mr. Zhang Yang and Ms. Lynne Ramsay, who is considered as one of the British most original and exciting voices working in Independent cinema, would be the international Jurors. Mr. Ramesh Sippy, Padma Shri winner is the Indian member in the International Jury.
Besides this, Mr. John Bailey, Cinematographer and Ex. President of Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, will chair the International Jury of 50th International Film Festival of India.
The golden jubilee edition of IFFI will showcase a retrospective of Golden Peacock Award winning films over the past 49 years. 9 Golden Peacock Award Winning films from 9 different countries will be screened in this section. The section will open with Gamperaliya directed by Lester James Peries, the first Golden Peacock Award Winning film of 1963.
Also, the Golden Jubilee edition of International film festival of India has the best lot of 15 films representing 20 countries competing for the coveted Golden Peacock Award. The selection has been made from over 700 entries.
