
Taj Television, a fully owned subsidiary of Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE), has appointed Rajesh Sethi as CEO. He will report directly to Punit Goenka, MD & CEO of ZEE. Sethi will be responsible for the overall sports business under the Ten Sports umbrella. Atul Pande, former CEO of the sports business, will move to an alternate responsibility within the Essel Group.
Goenka said, “I am glad to have Rajesh join the ZEE Family, and I am also confident that his rich experience across various sectors would bring in immense value to the organisation, enhancing the performance of our sports business manifold.”
Commenting on his new role, Sethi said, “Media & Entertainment is an extremely dynamic sector, and I am glad to join a brand which is a leader in this category. I have always admired the pioneering steps taken by ZEE, and I am equally keen to contribute my best to this dynamic company.”
Sethi has over 20 years of experience across multiple sectors like insurance, consumer services and automobile, and his last assignment was with Allianz Global Assistance as CEO & Region Director – South-east Asia.
An alumnus of Harward Business School, Sethi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Professional Diploma in International Business and PGDM in Sales & Marketing. He has also been awarded with the ‘Global Indian Achiever’s Award for Business Excellence 2012’ by the Economic Development Forum, Rashtriya Udyog Ratna Award by the National Education & Human Resource Development Organisation (NEHRDO) in October 2012.
Sethi’s appointment is effective July 2, 2013.
