Maharajganj journalist Rajndra Lal Srivastava passed away on Monday night. 74 year old Mr. Srivastava was ill past few days. He was being treated at a hospital in Lucknow. Rajendra Lal's body was brought to his residence Maharjganj Sarojini Nagar where his family, friends, relatives and well-wishers were present. His demise has overtaken the world of journalism by wave of mourning. He was cremated at the Trimuhani Shamshan Ghat. His eldest son, Avinash Kumar Srivastava gave the pyre.

Late Srivastava has left behind his family of two sons and three daughters. Apart from people from government departments, those present at the funeral were Zonal Chief RL Patel, Rashtriya Sahara Manager Piyush Banka, Local Editor of Gorakhpur Manoj Tiwari and many local politicians and journalists.
