
MEC has announced its assessment on the television ratings of KBC, which is premiering this week. Commenting on the occasion, Geeta Shiv, National Director, ‘Analytics and Insight’, said, “Audiences will be taken by the craze of KBC once again.” MEC has entered into an agreement with Merits Analytics India for KBC ratings and has taken it as a challenge. Unlike IPL, KBC has created chaos among channels regarding broadcasting. MEC has devised a new strategy with the Merits which are as follows:-
Promotion of programs on the channel, network and other channels
Radio and newspaper publicity
Search volume index for the number of viewers
Based on this method, MEC estimates, that in all India market, 5.4% of viewership will comprise only youths 15 and above years of age. According to official release this is 10% more than last year’s 4.9%.
