Claiming to be country’s number one newspaper, Dainik Jagran has been allegedly involved in the multi-crore forgery of government advertisements which was revealed through an RTI. The newspaper just like ‘Hindustan’ was running several units on the same registration number. RNI, on the basis of the information from a former employee of the Jagaran Muzaffarpur, Raman Kumar Yadav, has confirmed that Jagran had only registered itself in Patna and there is no registration for the other units.

On the basis of this RTI, it is confirmed that Dainik Jagran management has been illegally publishing newspaper in Bihar. Several units including Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur, have been running on the same RNI number which is against section 14/15, 8(b) of Press and Registration of Books Act-1867. In this regard, a case has been registered against ‘Hindustan’ in Bihar. In the police investigations these allegations were found true.
