Justin Kurzel directorial “True History Of The Kelly Gang” starring Russell Crowe, Nicholas Hoult, Essie Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, and Charlie Hunnam, is out with its first official trailer, which is sublime and riveting!

The film is based on Peter Carey's novel. It chronicles the story of Australian bush-ranger Ned Kelly and his gang as they flee from authorities during the 1870s. The film takes few liberties with the truth to create its own version of events about the infamous Ned Kelly and his followers.

It's directed by Justin Kurzel and the trailer has more than one or two similarities to his wonderfully disturbed version of Macbeth in 2015. The film played at TIFF back in September and has picked up some very good reviews on the festival circuit along the way.

The film will be released in Australian cinemas in 2020 by Transmission Films. Australian streaming rights were acquired by Stan, which will release the film on their service as a Stan original on January 9, 2020.

Picturehouse Entertainment will release the film theatrically in the UK and Ireland starting February 28, 2020.
