Tom Hanks In Greyhound, Trailer Out

Ravi Sharma | March, 07 2020

Actor Tom Hanks is back with action heavy first trailer for Greyhound, his upcoming World War II drama based on C.S. Forester’s 1955 novel The Good Shepherd.

Greyhound is an upcoming war film directed by Aaron Schneider and starring Tom Hanks, who also serves as screenwriter. It also stars Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan, and Elisabeth Shue.

The film follows a US Navy Commander on his first war-time assignment at the midpoint of World War II during the Battle of the Atlantic, as he leads his multi-national escort group in defending a convoy of merchant ships as submarines attack.

In the early days of the war, Navy Capt. Ernest Krause (Hanks) is entrusted with his first command of a U.S. destroyer (code name: Greyhound) protecting an Allied convoy of 37 ships as it crosses the Atlantic. Things don’t go as planned, of course, and the Allies find themselves fending off packs of Nazi submarines in murky waters.

During the early days of the United States' involvement in World War II, an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by Commander Ernest Krause, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while being hotly pursued by wolf packs of German U-boats.

Greyhound will be in theatres June 12.
