Cesar awards France's equivalent of the Oscars honored legendary actor Sean Penn with a life time Cesar award on their 40th annual award Ceremony.

Sean Penn seasoned actor, director, producer and writer was honored with a Cesar of Honor for his life's work, and a standing ovation from the elegant crowd at the Chatelet Theater.

"Sean, France loves you," said Marion Cotillard as she presented the award. He was accompanied by Charlize Theron, who he is dating for some time.

Sean Penn won an Academy Award for Best Actor for Mystic River and later another Academy Award for Best Actor for Milk.

Penn married pop singer Madonna in 1985 and divorced in 1989. Then he married Robin Wright Penn, Forrest Gump Famed actress.
