Jimmy Rich, who was personal assistant of Robert Downey Jr. died in a car accident on Wednesday. The actor announced the news on his social media account.

Sharing the news on his instagram page, the actor wrote, "This is not news. This is a terrible and shocking tragedy. Jimmy Rich was in a fatal car accident at approx. 8pm yesterday. He was a brother, my right hand man, an uncle to our kids and beloved by all who experienced his singular character and wit.. our thoughts go to his relatives, friends, co-workers, and all the fans who knew him as the man who supported every step of my recovery, life and career.. Again, my condolences to his beautiful family, and the legacy of hope and redemption his life will continue to represent. Peace Be Unto You."

As soon as he shared the news, many of Downey's Avengers co stars mourned the death of Jimmy Rich. Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, Jack Black and Clark Gregg all expressed their grief.

Rich had been working with Downey since 2003. He joined him on the sets of 2003's movie 'The Singing Detective'. Since then they both were together on all his films including his Marvel Films.
