
Sony Pictures Entertainment drops a brand new trailer for dark-super-hero Morbius, which is co-produced by Marvel Studios.
The film stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, Charlie Shotwell, Tyrese Gibson and Michael Keaton. In the film, Morbius becomes a vampire after curing himself of a rare disease.
Jared Leto as the "dark-superhero" known as Morbius the Living Vampire. The story follows a brilliant biochemist named Michael Morbius who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead. And thus he becomes "the living vampire" - though is he a villain or a hero?
Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa, the screenplay is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, based on the comic book and character created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane.
After announcing plans for a new shared universe of films inspired by Spider-Man characters beginning with Venom, Sony began developing a film based on Morbius. The film is shot in London.
Morbius is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 1, 2022, delayed from an initial July 2020 date primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
