Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, who dressed generations of celebrities in red carpet and evening gowns, has died after battling cancer at 82.  

The iconic designer's cause of death was not clear. However, he was diagnosed with cancer in 2006, but said in an interview last year with the International Business Times that he was "totally clean" of the disease and not at all interested in retirement. He recently designed Amal Clooney's wedding gown, and appeared in the pages of Vogue with George Clooney's bride, taken during her fitting.
