Actress Charlize Theron has adopted a newborn girl and named her August. She obtained the custody of the child in July, a month after she broke up with actor-director Sean Penn.
Theron worked with an adoption agency for six months. The baby was born in the US and is 0African-American. She joins four-year-old Jackson whom the actress adopted from South Africa in 2012.
"I do know that choosing to be a mom in my late 30s has been really great for me. It's given me perspective,” Theron, 39, said of motherhood.
The actress and Penn, who split in June, reunited in South Africa to re-shoot "The Last Face", which he directed and she starred in.
