Actress Rebekah Gibbs has passed away after losing her battle with cancer.

Actress Rebekah is best known for starring in the hit BBC medical drama, Casualty where she played feisty ambulance technician Nina Farr.

She was first diagnosed in 2008 with breast cancer, 10 weeks after giving birth to daughter Gigi, and it's now been confirmed that she lost her battle with the disease aged just 41.

Although she found out the news in 2008, she received a five-year all clear earlier this year before even more heartbreaking news.

In April she spoke out and explained: "I was in Devon with my family when I had a huge seizure.

"Within an hour I was in A&E. I was quickly diagnosed with two brain tumours, plus one in the neck and a lesion on my lung."

Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon has led tributes to Rebekah on Twitter, writing: "So many memories... We will never forget you Becky. Keep twinkling. Wherever you are."
