Actor James McAvoy to finally go bald for 'Professor X' role in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

News Helpline | September, 15 2014

James McAvoy has played Professor Xavier in two X-Men movies already and he has yet to go bald. However, that’s about to change in the next film, Apocalypse.

While speaking with the Huffington Post, McAvoy confirmed that his character will be older in the next film, which will take place a decade or so after this year’s Days of Future Past. “[And] I think I'm losing my hair finally. And, yeah, that's kind of all I know,” McAvoy said.

Bryan Singer will direct Apocalypse after returning to the franchise for Days of Future Past. Filming is expected to take place in Montreal next year. The last X-Men film, 'Days of Future Past', was released earlier this year and saw McAvoy and Stewart come face to face whilst attempting to alter a later event which threatened the existence of both humans and mutants.

The film grossed USD 739,657,477 worldwide and was widely praised by critics. Apocalypse is expected to open on May 27, 2016 (USA), but you can see him much sooner. He stars in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby with Jessica Chastain, which opens on Sept. 12.
