Leonardo Dicaprio proved his acting chops at a young age with movies like Robert De Niro and Johnny Depp in This Boy’s Life and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, respectively. By the time he hit twenties he turned into Sex-icon with movies like Romeo+ Juliet and Titanic.
There were rumours flying around that Dicaprio turned down the role of Skywalker as well as role of Robin in hit Batman series, but actor tactfully denies all the rumours about these alleged roles.
When asked about the rumour about Dicaprio screen-tested for the role of Robin in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever, he tactfully replies.
“I never screen-tested, I had a meeting with Joel Schumacher. It was just one meeting and, no, I didn’t end up doing it” says Dicaprio.
“I don’t think I wanted the role. As I recall I took the meeting, but didn’t want to play the role. Joel Schumacher is a very talented director but I don’t think I was ready for anything like that” says DiCaprio.
Actor admits to meeting George Lucas about playing Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels but says he wasn’t ready for that role either.
“I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that as well, yes. But wasn’t ready” add DiCaprio.
