Johnnie Walker Blue Label Launches Short Film starring Jude Law : The Gentleman's Wager‏

JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL, the leading luxury blended Scotch Whisky, as per IWSR 2013, today hosted a special screening of a short film starring actors JUDE LAW and GIANCARLO GIANNINI.

Directed by Jake Scott, the film tells the story of a wager between two men striving for personal progress through the quest for a truly rare experience. ‘THE GENTLEMAN’S WAGER’ was shot in St Lucia in the Caribbean and London respectively and sees Law in the role of a man who, despite having it all, uses a wager as an excuse to challenge himself and strive for something he wants, but can’t buy.

The India launch of the film took place at an extraordinary Blue Evening, befitting the spirit of the brand. The screening of the film titled, ‘THE GENTLEMAN’S WAGER’, was followed by a captivating discussion between two of Bollywood’s favorite gentlemen, ANIL KAPOOR and IRRFAN KHAN and skillfully moderated by author CHETAN BHAGAT. The carefully chosen panel of gentlemen shared their views about the film along with personal experiences from their life journey. The story of this short film and the philosophy depicted through it, resonated with all three panelists, who enriched the evening with some rare insights into their life as achievers.

After watching the film ANIL KAPOOR, simply said, “I live JUDE LAW’s character from this JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL film every day! Nothing compares to the rush of winning a wager and I believe that at times when you want to experience something rare, you need to push the envelope. What fun is life without a little challenge to yourself every day?”

IRRFAN KHAN related much with the film saying, “As an actor, I identify with what JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL embodies –a progressive spirit and the will to challenge oneself constantly. Rare experiences come to those who have the innate desire to learn, achieve and inspire others with this knowledge and this is my mantra in life.

Commenting on his role and involvement in the film, JUDE LAW says: “I like to think I’m someone who is constantly striving, working to progress, and to me, this is what this film is all about.  Just as I challenged myself to learn new skills through the shooting of this film, so my character challenges himself to achieve something that is - to all intents and purposes - unachievable.  Working with JAKE and with GIANCARLO too, it’s been a great experience.”
