
The versatile singer Errol Brown, who sang “you sexy thing” making it the catchiest song of 70’s, has died at 71-years-old. His manager, Phil Dale, confirmed the news to the BBC.
Brown, who had been battling cancer, is said to have died Wednesday in his Bahamas home.
Lester Errol Brown was a British-Jamaican singer and songwriter, best known as the front man of soul band Hot Chocolate. Hot Chocolate's hits included "You Sexy Thing", "Emma", "So You Win Again" and "Brother Louie".
He left Hot Chocolate in 1985 to focus on family, but returned with a solo career in 1987. He was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by the Queen in 2003. In 2004 he received an Ivor Novello Award for outstanding contributions to British music.
Brown is survived by his wife and two daughters.
