Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon, is all geared up for her upcoming movie ‘Mimi’. As the film is about a surrogate mother, the actor feels that it is the most beautiful scripts she has ever read. The actress further expressed that in Bollywood the topic of surrogacy hasn’t been explored that much. And It was important to explore such a serious topic with humor and entertainment.
Sharing her experience, Kriti said, “It was a wonderful experience. I think it’s one of the most beautiful scripts that I’ve read. Sometimes it does so happen that scene which is looking beautiful in the scripts, doesn’t actually shape up that well while shooting, but this is something I felt on a shoot, the scenes which looked good in scripts, turned out even better while filming. And the credit for that goes to the whole team, especially Laxman Utekar, the director of the film. And this is my second film with him.
The topic of surrogacy hasn’t been explored that much, and I like the fact that Laxman has the ability that he can present such a serious topic with humor and entertainment quotient, which is very important because it is not a documentary. The last schedule of the film was so satisfying as an actor, almost self-discovering if I might add. I’ve discovered so much about me during shooting, about how I can function as an actor and there were a lot of emotional scenes which were an experience.
Mimi is based on a Marathi film 'Mala Aai Vhaaychy'. It’s a drama film directed by Laxman Utekar and [roduced by Dinesh Vijan Of Maddock Films. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar. The film is slated to be released in July 2020.
