Punjab has been a regular shoot location for YRF films. Most of this production house films are shot totally in Punjab or have not missed to show at least a sequence in the state. But surprisingly the cast and crew of Mere Dad Ki Maruti, a venture of Y Films, the youth projects division of YRF, were refused to shoot in Sector 17, Chandigarh.

Though the film has been shot entirely in and out of the city, the authorities didn’t allow them to shoot in Sector 17 as the area is already crowded and a film shooting will only create chaos.

When contacted, producer Ashish Patil from YRF confirmed the story and said, "Its true we couldn't do the flash mob. We understand the authorities' concern about the crowd."
