Producer Ritesh Sidhwani attended success party of recently released ‘Fukrey Returns’ on Monday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Ritesh said that hopefully Hindi film industry will end this year with bang.
Year 2017 hasn't been a great year for Hindi film industry when it came to box-office collection of films but off late there were few movies which did some damage control and Fukrey Returns is part of that so, talking about success of the Fukrey Returns, Sidhwani said, “You always hope that no one should incurred loss whether it is distributor or producers. Actors or producers or technician gets fixed fee for a film so I think it’s very nice that everybody is making money. Music of the film is also bringing us money. It is end of the year and after this there is nice film called ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is coming so I think it’s good times and we will end the year with the bang and which is what we should do”
It has been great year for comedy films like ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘Golmaal Again’ and Now ‘Fukrey Returns’ so when asked whether he sees more comedy films being made in future, Ritesh said, “Baahubali was also made but I don’t know how many people will make Baahubali. I think you need to relate to it and identify it that is the basis of we should all do”
“Now we have produced comedy and next from our side will be three story film which is a small and completely different film which is releasing in February and then we are coming up with ‘Gold’ and ‘Gully Boy’ so all these films are in different in terms of genre and none of them are comedies so I think people should follow what they believe in and the kind of stories they want to tell and if you try to do same thing , emulate or copy something which is not inherent so I don’t success will come your way so you should do only if it is coming from within”
Talking about excel entertainment’s most successful film ‘Don’s next part which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Sidhwani said, “We are working on that and very soon we will announce that also”
There were rumors that Deepika Padukone may star in next part of ‘Don’, declining the rumors, Sidhwani said, “Deepika is not part of ‘Don’”
Succeess of ‘Fukrey Returns’ showed that if you have good content for the audience then release dates of the film don’t matters as earlier Fukrey Returns was scheduled to release after release of ‘Padmavati’ and before ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, reacting to it, Sidhwani said, “ I feel it is content which is king. There is nothing beyond content. If you stick to content and if audience relate to it which makes you laugh or cry or happy then that kind of content always stays”
When asked Sidhwani whether is going to make next part of Fukrey franchise, he said, “I feel it lot depends on writer and director of the film. Last two times, they came up with good stories. I will not force them because it has set the benchmark for us with ‘Fukrey Returns’ and whatever they do next have to better than this. If organically something comes we will definitely create next part of it”
Reacting to Virat Kohli and Anushka Shamra marriage, Sidhwani said, “Now Anushka becomes Anushka Virat Kohli. I want to wish them all the best, marriage is amazing place to be in. I am married so I can vouch for it. It’s beginning of their new journey and life”
‘Fukrey Returns’ has crossed Rs. 30 crores in just three days of its arrival at the theatres. The movie has scored a whopping sum of Rs. 32.20 crores at the box office counters at the end of third day from its release.
