There was a time when Bollywood used to talk about Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s friendship. They were supposedly the ‘best friends forever’. But surprisingly, KJo has shocked the media with his latest statement about SRK not being his best friend! According to Karan, not SRK but his childhood friend Apoorva Mehta, who is also the CEO of his company, is his best friend. An entertainment website quoted Karan Johar as saying, “There are old friends who have gone beyond the 'friendship' tag. They are family now. My childhood friend Apoorva Mehta, who is the CEO of my company, is my best friend. He's been with me for the past 30 years. We have been together from our schooldays, college days and even work together. He is my best friend.” 

When asked about the friendship with Shah Rukh Khan, the filmmaker said, “Nahi, Shah Rukh toh mere buddy nahi hain, balki mere bade bhai hain. (No, Shah Rukh is not my buddy. In fact, he is like my big brother.) I never called him my buddy. Even today when Shah Rukh enters a room, I stand up to give him respect. So, SRK is not my best friend but Apoorva, who heads my company, is”.
