After delivering a string of hits in Bollywood, Sonakshi Sinha is now headed to South. The actress has signed her first Telugu film Shivam opposite superstar Mahesh Babu.

Shivam is a period film directed by Krish (Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi) who is a big name in the Telugu film industry. Apparently, Krish wrote the film keeping Sonakshi in mind and it was Prabhu Dheva who got the actress to meet Krish following which the deal was signed.

Sonakshi Sinha was last seen in Arbaz Khan’s Dabangg 2 opposite the Dabangg Khan, Salman Khan. This year Sonakshi has films like Lootera opposite Ranveer Singh, Once upon a time in Mumbai again opposite Akhay Kumar, Rambo Rajkumar opposite Shahid Kapur, Bullet Raja opposite Saif Ali Khan and Thuppakki remake opposite Akshay Kumar with whom she has already done three films. Sonakshi Sinha will also be seen in an item song in Himmatwala.
