Someday would like to make an Indie film says Ashutosh Gowariker.

Ashutosh Gowariker, Gauri Shinde, Devdutt Pattanaik, Tanmay Bhatt and Anupama Chopra were present at The India Film Project touted as Asia's largest festival for content creators. During media interaction Ashutosh said he someday would like to make an Indie film.
 
When asked if he working a story keeping the big canvas in mind, director Ashutosh said, “I am not always looking for a big screen story; it’s always about a story. If the story connects then I don’t mind going out and making a film on it. So far I have made big canvas films but someday would like to make an Indie film which is shot in 45 days and is in one location indie film. It has to make me feel like I have to make it. I am a great lover of the independent cinema, there are so many stories that need to be told and are being told now.”
 
The India Film Project had 50 hours film-making competition and interesting panel discussions with known personalities for over two consecutive days from 30th September 2017 till 1st October 2017. 
 
Ashutosh further added how the audience has changed and the India Film project is working towards more progress. “I used to be fascinated by Biopics and I never thought India will set up so well and Indian audience will accept it, so a lot of films are working now which are made different. And India Film Project is trying to take that movement a step ahead. I appreciate Ritam Bhatnagar (founder India Film project) because he single-handedly built this.”
 
When asked if he is looking forward to making a biopic on anyone Ashutosh said, “I haven’t thought about anyone, in particular, to make a biopic on but I recently acquired a book ‘My Name is Gauhar Jaan!’ by Vikram Sampath. She was the first lady who recorded for the Gramophone Company of India, she is a great singer of the forgotten era. I think it a lovely and inspiring book.”
 
Gowariker last directed and produced Mohenjo Daro in 2016 with Hrithik Roshan, Pooja Hegde, and Kabir Bedi.
