Subhash Ghai started the shoot for his next Kaanchi on 24th February 2013 at Film City and the shooting is still in progress. Kaanchi is a musical thriller and 5 songs have already been recorded for the film. Kaanchi  is an upcoming Hindi-language Indian film produced and directed by Subhash Ghai, starring Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. The lead roles will be played by newcomers.

Subhash Ghai  is known as the "showman" of Hindi cinema, for making epic films that portray grandeur and very rich themes, some of his works are  Kalicharan (1976), Karz (1980), Hero (1983), Meri Jung (1985), Karma (1986), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar (1991), Khalnayak 1993), Pardes etc. hje He launched Mukta Arts, a film production company in 1982

On the other had Rishi Kapoor & Mithum Chakraborty have been super stars of their time and their magic in acting can still be seen in their performance  in their latest movies & is been appreciated by the audience.
