Director Shoojit Sircar who made the blockbuster hit Vicky Donor which launched Ayushmaan Khurrana and Yaami Gautam has to undergo a surgery.

Shoojit is currently busy with his film Madras Cafe that stars John Abraham underwent an emergency appendicitis surgery. The surgery came post the director's complaints of constant and persistent abdominal pains.

In fact Shoojit who had been bearing the pain for weeks finally consulted a doctor who promptly recommended that he undergo an operation immediately. Shoojit was operated upon three days back and has been advised complete rest by the doctor.

Madras Cafe is an upcoming Indian political thriller directed by Shoojit Sircar. The main lead role of an Indian intelligence agent in the film is played by John Abraham. The film also deals with the subject of terrorism, and will be shot in Sri Lanka, South India and Delhi. Apart from John, the film also features Nargis Fakhri, Sheetal Malhar, Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and Sainath Dukkipat
