Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan is indeed in news all over following his upcoming release ‘ABCD 2’, which is one of the big upcoming release of the year in Bollywood.

The young actor has been in news recently for bagging in a lead role in Filmmaker Karan Johar’s productional venture ‘Shuddhi’, as the character which Varun will be portraying in ‘Shuddhi’ was earlier meant to be portrayed by Salman Khan, but the latter walked out of the film following some date issues.

In an interview to media, Varun’s dad, well known filmmaker David  Dhawan stated Salman can never be replaced by Varun.

As David said, "Varun can never replace Salman. He is a great actor and a very big star. Varun is like his younger brother and that's why he tweeted also. Salman loves him,"

Talking about ‘Shuddhi’, the makers had a quite tough time to cast the lead actors, as the role were passed on from one actor to other actor .

At the very start, the lead characters were meant to be played by Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, followed by Ranveer Singh and Deepika, but due to other work commitments none of the mentioned actor could be finalized.

Till the role landed in Salman’s lap, yet the makers had problem to choose a right actress opposite Salman.
And then all of a sudden Salman’s exit from the project did left the makers all wondering.

But, finally they managed to rope in Varun for the lead, followed by the gorgeous Alia Bhatt opposite him in lead.

The film will be helmed by Karan Malhotra.
