Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda who has dragged himself into the eye of the storm after applauding a tweet by Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag further clarifies his stand about Gurmeher Kaur.

“I like to address three sections here. First of all, about the tweet itself. I didn't know who this girl was. I often laugh on Sehwag’s tweet because he makes pretty jokes. And I just laughed on that tweet and that’s it. I didn't see the conversation in it. Then I got some messages from some prominent journalists who are commenting and conversing on it. Therefore, I went back on Twitter and the internet to see what's going on.” he made the statement at the press conference of MTV Show BigF season 2.

Recently Sehwag took a jibe at Kaur for her post that had her holding a placard that said, "Pakistan did not kill my father. War did!" The Indian cricketer later shared a picture of himself posing in a manner similar to Kaur's, with a message on a placard that read, "I didn't score two triple centuries, my bat did." The post tickled Randeep's funny bone, applauded Sehwag and soon, Randeep was at the receiving end on social networking platforms for allegedly 'bullying' the martyr's daughter.

Speaking further on the issue the ‘Sarabjit’ actor said, “Let me clarify, I was not aware of any threats to her. When I came to know, I issued a statement clarifying my stand. Violence is wrong. If it’s against a woman then it's a heinous crime, perpetrators should be brought to justice and severe punishment should be given so that it sets an example.”

“I don't think that has happened. I don't know what the authorities are doing. However, by that time the narrative was set and I was labelled, put in a box.” He added.

“I said do not politicise this poor girl's point of view. Then those two words were taken: For using 'poor', they said you are a misogynist and for using 'girl's, they said sexist. My stand is 'If it were a boy, I would have said the same thing.” He signed off.
