
Last year music director Pritam Chakraborty striked the right note of the audience with an intriguing blend of tunes. From Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' to 'Afghan Jalebi' number in "Phantom", his compositions caught on music enthusiasts, with its infectious beats. His latest compositions for the Shah Rukh Khan-Varun Dhawan-starrer "Dilwale," particularly "Gerua" and 'Manma Emotion Jaage,' the romantic and foot-tapping numbers were lapped by audience.
At the press conference of Royal Stag Barrel Select MTV Unplugged Season 5, the music director reveals his preferred genre of composing music is intense dark passionate love movies.
Pritam who has given music in films like Jannat 2 and Murder 3 said, “I have given music in almost all genres like action, romcom, romantic but I love romantic, rom com films or dark passionate movies. At this stage of my life I have almost decided I will try to stay away from action and comedy films because I feel music is not so important for these kinds of films”
Pritam stressed that his music always justifies the demands of the film, says the composer, “My music is completely goes according to the script. When you are giving music in film, music should incorporate with the story and situation. If the song is not justifying the situation it doesn’t help the film and vice versa.”
Pritam who has a long busy schedule this year informs, he will be composing score for 5 films and due to his back to back release he can’t concentrate on private albums, “I want to work on a private album, every year I think of it. This year too I have 5 films which will keep me busy for the whole year.”
The 44 year old musician is currently composing music for Dangal, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Jagga Jasoos, Azhar and Dishoom.
