Just because this is a fight between a man and a woman does not mean it has to be a fight between genders: Yami Gautam.

Yami Gautam who co-starred Hrithik Roshan in 'Kaabil' wrote an open letter about the ongoing Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan controversy.

The Vicky Donor actress started in the Facebook Post by saying, "I am usually not very vocal on social media, but I am making an exception today, since as a woman, what I am seeing right now terrifies me."

Yami stated she isn't writing the letter as a co-star or as a friend but as women: "I am writing this as a woman and a concerned citizen of the country, and I will try to get my point across as succinctly and as objectively as possible."

The actress isn't happy about this controversy sturring into a gender war, where a certain fraction of society has already declared the man in question as guilty. "And that's dangerous. Whatever happened to innocent, until proven guilty? Whatever happened to letting the law take its own course? " wrote Yami Gautam.

She also believes if this baseless trial-by-media is allowed to continue it will be a serious blow to the on-going efforts of letting women an equal standing with the opposite sex.
The actress also emphasized no not exonerating anyone and nor suggesting malice by any one party.

Yami ended the public letter by saying, "Just because this is a fight between a man and a woman does not mean it has to be a fight between genders. Making everything a gender issue can easily distract us from addressing legit sexist issues that plague our society."

Superstar Hrithik Roshan is also in the news for his upcoming projects, Krrish 4, Anand Kumar biopic and an untitled movie with Yash Raj Films also starring Tiger Shroff.  Yami Gautam is reportedly also in the race to bag the female part in the action-drama film.
