Team Dhadak, which includes Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor along with filmmaker Shashank Khaitan started shooting of the film with a Pooja.

Dhadak the official remake of super-hit Marathi film Sairat directed by Nagraj Manjule. The Hindi remake will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The official twitter handle of Dharma Production shared the pictures from the pooja and location. Their caption read, “New month, new beginnings. #Dhadak begins to beat as @ShashankKhaitan starts rolling for the film with Dharma's newest talent, #Janhvi and #IshaanKhatter in #Udaipur. @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @ZeeStudios_”

It has been reported that though the basic premise of the film will be differences in caste, honour killing like the original Sairat, but there will be some adaptation. The story is based in Rajasthan.

Ishaan Khattar has already made in presence count in Udta Punjab and recently released Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond The Clouds’, which has fetched him the Best Actor for his debut film at the International Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey.

Janhvi Kapoor is the daughter of legendary actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor.

The film is co-produced by Zee Studios, is set for July 6, 2018, release.
