Is Madhur Bhandakar gender biased?

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, picks up real life topics. Reality of life influences him to make his that’s loved by all. It’s worth watching his stories that are real life narration. But if you got to observe his topics on which he make his movie generally revolves around sensational and women – Centric plots. Chandni Bar, Page3, Traffic Signal, Fashion and now Heroine all have been picked up from womens’ point of view.

Does it mean that he is gender biased and concentrates on women related pains and neglects the male section?

Madhur clarifies that he is not gender-biased and that his only claim is to make good movies. Bhandarkar was recently quoted saying that for him it is necessary to make a good film, which garners success and critical acclaim and that he is never gender-biased. Although he agreed that the ratio of female actresses is more in his films but that depends on what kind of film is he making at that time. His films have not only consolidated his reputation as a hard-hitting director, but also won the lead actresses, Tabu and Priyanka Chopra, National awards for their performances. His latest film Heroine, starring Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda, is set to release on September 21. He aims that his, this movie will show Kareena’s never seen avatar. And at the same time he hopes she takes an award back home for her splendid performance.

Meanwhile, if it takes to discussion Madhur has also directed Jail which concentrated on male section but, to our surprise it did not farewell as compared to his other films. Comparatively "Dil Toh Bachha Hain Ji" released 2011 was a decent one. Well though Madhur clarifies he is not Women centric film maker his women centric films keeps the cash counter ringing for him.
