
Just yesterday the makers of The Sky In Pink broke the news that the film will have its world premiere at prestigious TIFF before India release. And now Priyanka Chopra says she is proud of the film as it is the only Asian Film to have an official selection at TIFF 2019.
Ahead of its release in India, The Sky Is Pink starring Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim and Farhan Akhtar, will have its Worldwide Gala Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 13th September.
Priyanka Chopra shared on her Twitter profile. She wrote, “So proud to announce that #TheSkyIsPink is the only film from Asia to have an official selection at #TIFF2019! Can't wait to be back this year in the dual role of actor & producer. I hope to see many of you at the world premiere on Sep 13. Thank you for all the love & support”
Directed by Shonali Bose, the film is a love story of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary's parents, played by Priyanka and Farhan. Aisha was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
The official handle of Roy Kapur Films confirmed the news, it said, “Excited to announce that #TheSkyIsPink is selected to have its Worldwide Gala Premiere at the #TorontoInternationalFilmFestival this year on September 13. See you in theatres worldwide on October 11!”
Zaira Wasim, who recently quit acting, is essaying the role of Aisha in the film. Rohit Saraf is also a part of the cast.
'The Sky is Pink' is Priyanka's first Hindi project, which she is also producing after she headed for Hollywood in 2016.
It is scheduled for an October 11 release.
