On Monday morning at PVR cinemas Andheri, The team of Mohit Suri, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Chetan Bhagat launched the trailer of their upcoming movie Half-Girlfriend.
The actor who plays Madhav Jha who falls in an unconditional love for Riya Somani played by Shraddha Kapoor said on the launch,"This movie is most of what I have faced in my young age. I am pretty sure every boy goes through a time in life when he falls for one such girl whom he never gets in a relationship. But we show how to take such a situation in a positive way and not give up."
Chetan Bhagat, the author who has written the book on which the movie is filmed, put some light on how he came up with story. He said, "I released the book back in 2014. Every youth who wanted to escape the friendzone wanted a better tag which could comfort him. For such people I came up with this word called 'Half-Girlfriend'."
Mohit suri, The director of the film, explained the experience on the set when he said, " It is never easy to film a movie when you make it based on a book. To show a journey of 13 years of The boy and the girl wouldnt had been a easy task without my writers. We kept a note on each and every point, from situations to places they visit, and then we created this 3 hour movie."
Shraddha Kapoor who plays Riya Somani, shared her part of the experience as she said,"Arjun was so much into the character of Madhav Jha, that even after the shoot, He use to stay in the character and talk or text me in Bhojpuri. We are confident that every youth will connect to this movie because everyone has experienced such a situation in their life."
We wonder what Arjun kapoor used to text her for but the movie seems to be quiet a Chetan Bhagat love story type drama.
The movie will see Arjun Kapoor as Madhav Jha and Shraddha Kapoor as Riya Somani in lead roles. Directed by Mohit suri, produced by Chetan Bhagat, Ekta Kapoor, Mohit Suri and Siddharth Atha, the movie will hit the screen on 19th May, 2017.
