Entertainment Industry Requires Creative Solutions For Functioning Amidst Pandemic Says Richa Chadha

Ravi Sharma | September, 10 2021

Richa Chadha and Ronit Roy starrer show Candy recently got released on Voot and the show is getting good response from the audience. The story is located in the fictional city of Rudrakund which is located in the hills. The series deals with murder mysteries and more. The actress spoke to News Helpline about the show and much more.

Richa has always been choosy about her roles and scripts. What prompted her to say yes to this project, talking about the same, she said, "I really loved the script. It has many layers. We all have those memories from our childhood when somebody used to narrate scary incidents. This story has nuances of that. "

She further added, "It is a story in a very sleepy hill station. I play the role of a female DSP who is trying to investigate some unusual activities being suspected here. There is a boarding school where one student goes missing and another gets murdered. There is a drug racket involved. Basically the crux of the show is who is the murderer? Is it a ghost or a person?"

What was the most challenging part while doing the show, speaking about the same, she said, "We shot the series in extremely cold weather; the physical conditions were challenging. Apart from this the script had many layers so we had to learn the whole graph in order to perform."

When asked if the theatres should be opened up in Maharashtra too, the actress said, "During the peak of the second wave we all witnessed a very bad phase. The Maharashtra government has already prepared themselves for the third wave. In other states the cases are increasing. So the government here must have thought of something and must have taken this decision.

But we must think creatively and come out with some solution like an open air theatre, moving theatre. We must find some creative solution for the smooth functioning of the entertainment industry amidst Covid."

How was her experience working with Ronit Roy, talking about the same, she said, "It was a very good experience. I learnt intensity from him."
