After 18 long year’s Court battle, Veteran Actor Dilip Kumar has been acquitted by court today, February 23, 2016. 

Dilip Kumar has been acquitted in the 18-year old cheque bounce case, for which he was required to be present at the court today, due to his health condition, the thespian was granted exemption from being present at the court.

The case that had been going on since 18 years was filed in 1998. While Dilip Kumar was only the honorary chairman of Geekay Exim India Limited, a company that was into export business, the case was filed against him. However, this was the last case to have been pending against the actor in this regard.

According to several reports, the company had raised several hundred crores from various lenders across the country and had issued cheques for repayment. However, things took a turn for the worse when the company started to default in its payments and cases started getting filed against everyone associated with the company.
