Deepika Padukone, is one of those B-town who rose to fame with Block Buster films, with making her space in audiences hearts and in critics notes with her performance, but the actress who is soon gearing up for her next flick, ‘Finding Fanny’ doesn’t want to experiment with her stardom by doing cameos in her career.
Rumours about Deepika doing a cameo started making rounds when the actress landed on the cruise liner sets of Zoya Akhtar's ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ where Ranveer Singh was shooting. While her visit was being out down to her intention of apparently spending quality time with Ranveer, speculations were also rife that she perhaps has a cameo in Zoya's film. However when asked about it, Deepika categorically denied the rumours and said, "I don't do cameos."
Deepika also clarified about another speculation of her hand in casting her alleged boyfriend Ranveer Singh in ‘Finding Fanny’. Ranveer is playing a short role of Deepika’s Dead husband in the film.
Finding Fanny is not exactly the mega-budget movie that Deepika has been a part if in past. Talking about why she signed the movie, Deepika explained, "My character in the story is secondary. What drew me is the fact that Homi wanted to tell a story. He is always so sure of what he is doing that you start believing in his vision. He narrated the story to me at time when I was looking to do something different. The language of the film is mainly English and that is what excited me. To perform in English is a different feeling."
Finding Fanny is directed and written by Homi Adajania, and it also stars, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, and Arjun Kapoor in pivoted roles.
It is set to release on 14th September this year.
