Arshad Warsi has been a chain smoker for over 30 decades but the actor has finally given up smoking for good. The 45-year-old decided to quit after his 9-year-old son Zeke made a special request through a hand made card and the actor decided to kick the habit on October 1.Talking about his decision, Warsi told us, "In the past, I never really made an effort to quit smoking. I wouldn't do it for myself but I am doing it for my kids. They are grown up now and understand everything. When my first child was born, I threw the bar out of house and replaced it with a gym. I want them to grow up thinking that it's normal to have a fitness station at home and not bottles of alcohol."The actor first started smoking as a teenager to rebel against parental pressure to quit gymnastics, his passion at that time.Narrating a recent incident which pushed him to make the decision, Warsi said, "Recently I was unwell and my son asked me why don't you give up smoking. I was stunned. Few days later, he gave me a card that he had made which read: Stop Smoking. That card made me feel like a fool. I gave up smoking. The first few days were very tough but now I think I can manage without it."
