From sound, action and direction it won enormous awards. However, producer Manoj Desai is keen to make its sequel.

Big B and Sridevi have been approached for it. Before which they have already been roped in together for English Vinglish which also stars Abhisheik Bacchan. The producer of the movie Manoj Desai was quoted saying that he is eager to take the story forward and will discuss the storyline with Amitabh Bachchan after finishing his script in a few days. Desai also revealed that he plans to rope in Abhishek Bachchan as the son-in-law of Badshah Khan (the character played by Big B). Directed by Mukul Aanand Khuda Gawah told the story of an honourable Pathan (played by Bachchan), who serves prison time for the sake of love and honour and is finally exonerated after the truth comes to light.
